When Caroline Fontaine founded Vignes Chez Soi in 2010, she had only one goal in mind: to bring Quebec table grapes, until then completely unknown to the general public, directly into gardens, courtyards, patios and terraces of the greatest number, and to ensure that the popularity of the different Quebec grape varieties is at the same level as that of apples, blueberries and strawberries from Quebec!
A magnificent challenge that is about to be realized, day after day, so much success is there. From Chicoutimi to Sherbrooke via Tadoussac and Montreal, to the Iles-de-la-Madeleine and even today, in Ontario, Alberta and as far as Saskatchewan, demand is growing and Quebec vines grow everywhere in our beautiful province and our great country!
But the mission of Vignes Chez Soi does not stop there. It will only be definitively filled when the only table grape that we currently find in our grocery stores from Mexico or Chile, will be replaced by our own much tastier, original and Quebec table grape!
In this sense, Vignes Chez Soi works today jointly with producers and large distributors of fruits and vegetables, to develop large table grape vineyards in Quebec, capable of meeting the demand and requirements of large retailers.
Somerset, Trollhaugen, Brianna, will soon be as well known to consumers as McIntosh, Cortland and other Empires…
