Seiko launches 5 Sports Horimi Yuuto SSK027K1 limited edition watch
Seiko and professional skateboarder Yuto Horiyoshi collaborated to launch a joint watch (model: SSK027K1) based on the 5 Sports Style GMT series. In 2020, skateboarding became an Olympic event. At the Tokyo Olympics, Yuto Horiyoshi became the first Olympic (men’s street skateboarding) gold medalist in history. The joint watch has an all-black appearance with psychedelic blue and purple bezel inserts, giving it a sporty and urban style.
The new watch has a diameter of 42.5 mm and a thickness of 13.6 mm. The case is made of stainless steel, treated with black coating, equipped with Hardlex mineral-strengthened glass mirror, screw-down crown with guard (4 o’clock position) and see-through case back, with excellent waterproof performance of 100 meters. The two-way rotating bezel has a blue and purple two-color insert and is marked with a 24-hour scale.
The dial is decorated in black, matching the appearance of the case and bracelet. The extra large applied hour markers, hour and minute hands and red GMT arrow hands are all coated with Lumibrite fluorescent material to ensure readability under low light conditions. In addition, the flange of the dial is marked with a 24-hour scale, and there are black and white second hands and a date window with a magnifying glass at the center and 3 o’clock respectively.
Through the see-through case back, you can admire the built-in 4R34 automatic movement. This is an office GMT movement with 24 jewels, a vibration frequency of 21,600 times per hour (3 Hz), and a power reserve of 41 hours. At the same time, the inside of the mirror on the back of the watch is also decorated with Yuto Horiyoshi’s signature.
The Seiko 5 Sports Horimi Yuto SSK027K1 watch comes with a black-coated stainless steel five-bead chain with a folding clasp with a safety lock.
