The PIL or the Public Interest Litigation was filed by Rajesh Bajaj and others against Avinash Bhosale and others. This petition was dismissed by the Bombay Court on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019. The Honourable Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court deduced that sometimes people are misusing the Public Interest Litigation or the PIL and similar other lawsuits as a device to extract money from other parties. People who declare they are supporting social causes should be of top morale themselves first was also pointed out by the Honourable Court.

In 2015, the PIL was filed against the Avinash Bhosale Group by Rajesh Khairatilal Bajaj, Rajesh Alias bobby Bajaj, the residents of Bhosale Nagar, and others regarding the Castel Royale Towers residential project. The Noble Court had already dismissed the lawsuit due to the petitioner’s faults in the year 2016. The petitioner attempted to defend the faults by alleging viral illness and other medical treatments in the last hearing before the Noble Court. The Honorable court discovered that the petitioner was conducting a criminal case to trial during the period of defaults based on the circumstances documented. Later, it was revealed that the petitioner’s medical certificate was indeed a duplicate. Furthermore, the Honorable High Court had already come to know that another petitioner, Rajesh Bajaj, was pretending to be a lawyer.

Mr. Amit Bhosale, the MD of Avinash Bhosale Group stated in response to the verdict, “We’ve been continuously treated badly by self-proclaimed RTI activists, but we put our faith in the courts, and reality has finally won. We are sure that such orders would reduce such false allegations. The RTI Act, as well as other laws like the Public Interest Litigation Act, are often used for selfish reasons, and this has to stop.
