Cookie Clicker is an incremental game that was developed by French programmer Julien “Orteil” Thiennot and released in 2013. The user begins by clicking on a large cookie that appears on the screen, earning one cookie for each click. They can then use the cookies they have earned to purchase assets such as “cursors” and other “buildings” that generate cookies on their own. The use of upgrades can improve the efficiency of clicks and buildings, among many other mechanics that allow the user to earn cookies in a variety of ways. Upgrades are also available. Despite the fact that the game has no definitive ending, it contains hundreds of milestones, and players might strive to accumulate large amounts of cookies.

Gameplay

In order to begin, the player must first click on the huge cookie located on the far left side of the screen, earning one cookie for each successful click. By using these cookies, the player can purchase new assets such as cursors, grandmas, farms, mines, factories, banks, temples, and a variety of other items that automatically create cookies without the user having to click on anything. Prices rise at an exponential rate, with each asset costing 15 percent more than the asset purchased just a few days before it was purchased. Additionally, enhancements to increase cookie production for these structures can be purchased by the player. A periodic occurrence in the form of miniature cookies that appear in random locations and vanish after a few seconds appears and grants effects, such as golden cookies or a momentary rise in the rate of production, if clicked before they vanish.

The cookie clicker game is available for free. No ads. No download or installation is required.
