As President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wente Group, Inc., a St. Louis-based consulting firm, Patricia Wente goes to great lengths to ensure that her clients receive the maximum level of support possible in the broadcasting industry. Over the course of her leadership of The Wente Group, Inc., Patricia Wente has successfully matched crucial funds and patrons with her clients. Capitalizing on her past work as a manager and director for numerous radio stations, in addition to her two years of service as a Grants Reviewer for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Patricia Wente brings extensive experience and industry knowledge to her clients. Patricia Wente graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield, where she had previously earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Broadcast emphasis. After the successful completion of her graduate education, Patricia Wente took a position with WRRS, one of two radio stations at Wichita State University. After six years with Wichita State University, Patricia Wente transferred her talents to a post with The University of Oklahoma, where she served as the General Manager and Visiting Instructor for KGOU-FM. Patricia Wente then transitioned into the position of Director and General Manager with St. Louis Public Radio, and assisted KMWU in more than doubling its listening audience, obtaining crucial funding, and increasing the station’s power to 100,000 watts. Patricia Wente has also served on the Public Broadcasting Internet Steering Committee, the St. Louis Association Board, and has also served at various times as the Secretary, Vice President, and President of Public Radio in Mid America.
