Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is the smallest known DNA virus in humans, with a genome length of approximately 3.2 kb and partially double-stranded DNA. It belongs to the Hepadnaviridae family, has a strict tropism for the liver and species-specificity, and generally infects liver tissues, causing acute and chronic hepatitis. In its natural state, it can only infect humans and a few primate species. These characteristics limit the application of animal models in HBV research. Therefore, obtaining an appropriate HBV infection cell or animal model is crucial. Creative Diagnostics utilizes the latest developments in various disciplines to establish more screening models to facilitate new antiviral discovery. We provide a variety of cell and animal models for antiviral screening and evaluation to support customers’ development needs for antivirals against HBV.
