Aggrend goes on to give an example of how attempting to “fix” issues for certain groups of players in regards to server balance can unintentionally cause more inconvenience to players than it helps. He writes to envision that a PvP server has a population that is 40 percent Alliance and 60% Horde. While many players might be happy, a subset of Alliance players aren’t happy being outnumbered buy WoTLK Gold. If Blizzard to allow free character transfers on that realm, those discontent Alliance players would move to a server with better balance of population. However, the negative effect would be that the server that the players used to reside on would be transformed into 75% Horde server and the experience would be worse for those who were satisfied with the previous server balance.
“In this case, doing something well-intentioned to help the unhappy 20% would cause more harm to people than it helped,” Aggrend writes. “This is a part of the dilemma and what causes us to invest a lot of time to consider factors before taking any actions which affect realm populations and balance between factions.”
While Blizzard did allow free transfers of characters to certain Burning Crusade Classic servers in November 2021. Aggrend goes on to admit that the situation could have been communicated more clearly, and that Blizzard should have enabled free transfer of characters on specific servers earlier.
Other players have called for servers with low numbers to be combined although it might sound simple on paper, Aggrend states that WoW generally hasn’t ever merged servers cheap WoW WoTLK Classic Gold. There are a myriad of reasons, between players losing individual name to merges damaging the community of the server. Blizzard, Aggrend writes, opposes any method which would force a significant majority of players what they would not like to do, as is the case for server merges.
