Developer Jagex has teamed up with the board game developer Steamforged Games to release not only one, but two tabletop games in the year of 2022.

Steamforged Games’ collaboration with Jagex is the latest in a series of collaborations that bring some of the biggest gaming franchises into a tabletop. The tabletop gaming juggernaut already created board games based on popular series such as Monster Hunter World and Dark Souls and has recently concluded an extremely successful crowdfunding campaign for a Resident Evil 2 board game that raised more than 1 million GBP earlier this year.

The company has set its sights on the world of Gielinor and RuneScape with plans to release the board game as well as an RPG book for tabletop gaming in the year ahead. The two RPG adaptations will feature a variety of RuneScape’s most famous characters and places, allowing groups of up to five players to play classic quests found in RuneScape and bring the adventures within the realm of Gielinor home.

Players are able to create and upgrade equipment, interact with NPCs and undertake various side-quests inspired in the traditional MMORPG. The board game will go live through a Kickstarter campaign later this year. The core tabletop RPG book is scheduled to Buy OSRS Account go on sale immediately.
